How I work

Diagnose from evidence, build systems people can run, report what is true.

01

Start with the customer

People buy solutions, not products. Change the product, price or channel to fit them.

02

Be honest about the numbers

Show a hard number early rather than explain a surprise later.

03

Build systems that outlast me

SOPs, controls, automation and clear roles keep a business running when no one is watching.

04

Lift people as we grow

Women have held 40 to 60% of roles at every level of my teams since 2013.

Operations & turnaround

Clarity, training, workforce design and quality improvement, scaled across countries.

Manufacturing & supply chain

Factory operations, ISO 9001, sourcing, cost reduction and last mile distribution.

Export & trade

Export readiness, EU REACH and Prop 65 compliance, Fortune 500 offtake, AGOA and EU EPA access.

Go to market

Pricing, channels, key accounts and Salesforce based sales operations since 2015.

Capital & development finance

Results based and blended finance, PPPs, carbon revenue and investment readiness.

People, governance & finance

Hiring systems, senior lead performance, treasury committees and controls.

Selected case studies

The problem I found, what I did, and what changed.

Artisan export · 2020–2026

Turning around a global artisan business

Challenge. A struggling business with a fragmented artisan supply base and inconsistent quality.

What I did. Reset roles and training, lifted quality through value addition, onboarded Fortune 500 retail buyers, automated order fulfilment and built the global finance function.

USD 0.8M → 10M revenueMargins up 30%+14 new markets3,000 hubs, 15,000+ families30% lower workforce needs

Clean energy · 2013–2018

Clean cooking at scale across twelve countries

Challenge. Affordable, reliable cookstoves had to reach the last mile across Africa and Asia at once.

What I did. Led group manufacturing and supply chain with 1,300+ people, brought in ISO 9001:2015 and Lean Six Sigma, launched carbon, LPG and solar revenue lines.

Biomass energy · 2019–2020

Turning sugarcane waste into industrial fuel

Challenge. A biomass fuel maker sold almost only to schools and had no finance function.

What I did. Added carbonised briquettes, built the finance function and investor case, won manufacturers and hospitals as clients.

Impact investment raised38% efficiency gain in 9 months65% gross margins10,000+ households200+ jobs

Water franchising · 2019

Bringing a franchise supply chain under control

Challenge. A franchise network across Rwanda, Congo and Uganda was losing money in its supply chain.

What I did. Wrote the systems, governance, SOPs and HR training the network needed; reworked sourcing and last mile delivery.

Losses under controlOne standard across 3 countries

Health supply chains

Getting health products to the people who need them

Challenge. Affordable devices and medicines stalled between a good product and a signed contract.

What I did. Moved devices into Ministry of Health, NGO and donor channels, supported registrations, and structured public private partnerships.

Building now

Technophiles Conglomerate Africa: one parent, three arms.

Technophiles Advisory

Operating since July 2024, and funds the group's first wave of work. Five practices, deliberately few: climate, carbon and energy access; supply chain and market systems; capital and results based finance; export manufacturing and market entry; and HR and hiring.

Technophiles Ventures

Seven companies, each pre launch and built to stand alone, with plans and decks ready. Combined pre seed need USD 1.85M, raised one company at a time.

  • AgroEvolution — Circular farm inputs, farm data and a direct farm to buyer market

  • EcoCircular — Waste data, a recycling marketplace and verified diversion credits
  • SheRise — Income, credit, learning and cover for women run micro businesses
  • HealthConnect — AI triage, telemedicine and lifestyle medicine
  • Fin Clean Tech — Pay as you go solar, clean water and clean cooking
  • Prime Sustainable — Fair credit and micro insurance for people with no credit file

Fundi Africa Foundation

A nonprofit in formation, a company limited by guarantee, that trains African producers to the standard markets pay for and proves they reached it with auditable data. Four programmes on one method: Fundi Craft for artisans, Fundi Farm for smallholders, Fundi Circular for recovery workers and Fundi Health for community health workers. Graduates are free to sell anywhere.

Each arm has its own job, its own accounts and its own rules. Advisory clients are never steered to the ventures, and the Foundation is never a sales channel.
